Bennett's
by the Bay, Bed and Breakfast is located 860 feet above the shoreline,
in the foothills of the Long Range mountains in a small community of
Irishtown-Summerside. These shorelines were formerly discovered by Admiral
Palliser & Captain Cook, who charted this region in the early 1700's.
Centrally
located in western Newfoundland, our community is nestled amongst
the folded and faulted Long Range Mountains (which is a continuation
of the Appalachian Mountain belt); We are located about 40 km (25
miles) inland from the open waters of the Gulf of St. Lawrence. The
landscape is rugged and the scenery is spectacular. The surrounding
coastline holds magnificent fjords, jagged headlands, thickly forested
areas and many offshore islands. Our community is surrounded by forest
-- waterways and mountains fill the horizon in all directions.
Visit our scenic coves and towns; Hughes Brook, Irishtown-Summerside,
Meadows, Gillams & McIvers located along our winding roads. Explore
Cox's Cove, a quaint fishing village situated by the open waters where
you may see the whales feeding on kaplan in the Bay. We can also arrange
guided boat tours, river rafting, caving, fishing or hiking in our
endless wooded trails... all nearby!

You'll
find both in this spacious Bed & Breakfast overlooking a picturesque
bay! We are conveniently located just 15 minutes to Steady Brook Falls/
Marble Mountain, Humber river and only minutes to the City of Corner
Brook. Savor the country lifestyle of many Newfoundlanders. Watch
the cruise ships dock across the bay, migratory birds and a wide variety
of wildlife living in our boundless acres of local forests.
Many
of our guests use Bennett's Bed & Breakfast as a central location
in Western Newfoundland from which to explore and experience our coastal
region.
Our
B & B is located about 45 minutes to Deer
Lake airport, 1 hour to Gros
Morne National Park, or if traveling by ferry, we are located
about 2 hours to Port aux
Basque ferry crossing!
We can
suggest day trips or seasonal packages which may be of interest to
you during your stay at the Bennett's by the Bay.
